Speaking about my school, first of all, I am going to tell you about its importance for us. Then, I should describe you some classroom and students’ activities at different lessons. There is no doubt that I will tell you about students’ attitude to teachers in brief.
Everybody will agree with me that school is our second home. Honestly speaking it is the only place where we meet our first teacher who leads us along the way of knowledge.
We have many friends at school and they are willing to help us in different situations. School brings up kindness, bravery and love to our Motherland. Due to school we become real persons who can love, struggle and defend. There is no doubt that school helps us to choose the right way in our life. At all lessons we develop logics, memory, independent thinking and independence of character. I should say that at school we are taught to be clever, well-read, well-bred, attentive, polite and to please other people. It goes without any saying, school is dear to everybody and it will live in our hearts forever.
Our school is not large, but we are proud of it. Frankly speaking, if we wanted to build the house of knowledge it would be high up to the sky thought it is only three-stored building. And I can prove it.
We have light well-equipped laboratories where we do scientific work and make careful observations. They are on the first and second floors. Schemes and tables can be seen on the classroom walls.
I have a great desire to tell you, that at our Maths we add and subtract, divide and multiply numerals quickly, solve problems and do sums well.
We write compositions, learn rules and terms by heart, express our points of view on events, attend Russian, Literature and History lessons.
I am going to add that we sing songs, study customs, traditions of English speaking countries, read and discuss original texts, make projects, translate newspaper articles. Here we are taught to debate, dramatize texts at the English lessons.
We are taught to be skillful at knitting and cooking at our Handcraft lessons. Our workshops for wood work and metal work, our home economics room are on the ground floor.
We try to develop our body strong, healthy and fit in out P. T. lessons. Usually boys dream of setting a record in swimming, boxing or fighting and girls try to show their good results in gymnastics.
The favorite place in our school is an Assembly hall. Here we hold our meetings, parties, concerts or celebrate great holidays. It is decorated with beautiful curtains in a modern style. Near the stage there is the piano. Very often, when students present their creative work, a swift melody is heard or different place are performed, because our students are very talented and active.
I should remind you, that our school is a specialized school in English. So if you need English or American literature we are advised to visit our school library which is on the ground floor. We pay much attention to English.
To sum it up, we have all opportunities to go on our education in Universities and we are eager to get knowledge in different branches of science. We value the help and advice of our teachers.
Our teachers are always full of new ideas and they involve us in making projects or taking part in subject Olympiads. Through we belong to different generations; it is easy to get along with them. They treat us with respect and understanding. Our head master is considered to be the second mother. It is really true, because very often she knows much more about us then our parents. We trust her our secrets and our form teacher always keep them.
The school I study is a number 38. Our school is famous not only in our country, but abroad for its high quality of education, for its scientific work of teachers and students, for a joined work of teachers with parents and students and for its strict discipline. It is not a private school. It is a state and classic school. Our school is situated in the center of the city, in a new district, not far from Republic Square. I don’t get to school by bus or by tram. I walk to school. It takes me 10 minutes. I go to school 5 days a week. Every lesson lasts 35 minutes. The first lesson starts at half-past eight in the morning. Classes are over at 10 minutes past 2 in the afternoon. In between classes there are 10 minutes breaks. During our brakes we go to the canteen to have lunch. We have four terms in a school year. There are four holidays in between the terms. Summer holidays are the longest. Our school year begins on the 1st of September and ends in May.
