А small overview of the platform
I want to make a small overview of the platform Vocabulary.com .
Everything in your work will depend on your signing up here - like a teacher or like a student. If you are a teacher you will have here the next directions:
- my classes
- my students
- my progress
- my list
To work here at first you must create your class through the next tools:
- an empty square, where you need to type email invitations to your students
- an empty square, where filling in the link of your handout and can print it by pressing on it.
- assignments (they can be created by you or you may use ready ones)
- grade book
- students view, were you can see how many words were mastered by your students
This part of this platform is not reasonable for students. But the surface of Vocabulary.com that consist of four different tools can be used both the teachers and the students.
- the challenge
- vocabulary jam
- featured activity
- quick list
The first "The challenge" is organized like a game. You are given different sentences with missed words which are presented in various versions below. The program gives you definition of every right word and you will get one score.
In "vocabulary jam" you can compete with the other team in knowledge of words.
The next one "featured activity" works like the first "the challenge".
In the last one "quick list" you can create list of words you want to know.
But there are some other tool to work to.
If you are mistaken with the word, working in different directions, you can find definition of any word you have problems with in "Dictionary".
In "vocabulary list" you can find any book you need.
In "test prep" you may prepare for a test, but tests are not free.
I have presented you with a platform called "Vocabulary.com". It is very useful both for teachers and the students to make achievements in learning different words. But it will take you enough time to learn to work here.
"Vocabulary.com" uses adaptive technology to offer a differentiated vocabulary instruction to students at all levels. Each student can have his own personalized learning program.
